Bernie ][ The Rescue 2.6
version history

What's New In Version 2.6/2.5.9

ProDOS browser: the files on that disk image got names. See them.
Cross-Platform Aliases: it is now possible to make an alias of a GS/OS file on the Mac
desktop.
You can now specify a download folder for Total Integration IIgs->Mac copies in the
Bernie preferences window (Storage panel).
The Total Integration group in the Storage preferences panel also lets you choose between
overwriting files and skipping them in case of duplicates. The switch affects both Mac to GS
and GS to Mac copies. The option key workaround found in the original 2.5 release has been
retired.
Serial port assignments are now persistent. Bernie attempts to open a port even if it was unavailable
during the last session.
Improved mouse support code (compatibility with more titles)

Fix: preferences button in InkMeister preview window was out of order sometimes.
Fix: file types of ProDOS 8 system files are now recognized properly by Total Integration
Fix: Double LoRes Graphics bug fixed
Fix: ZipChip emulation now passes proper speed to Zip utilities

Version 2.5.9:

slight interface changes for compatibility with Appearance Manager 1.0.3.

What Was New In Version 2.5.1

Bernie Total Integration makes its debut. You can now drag & drop files and exchange
clipboard content easily. See below for an introduction and the manual for complete information.
We have thrown in a better algorithm for volume control. You should experience louder,
more steady playback regardless of how many voices are playing. The new algorithm is still
in fine-tuning mode, please get back to us if it's not delivering on your end.
Another change in the sound department is that sound is now always enabled. You can mute
sound emulation, but interrupts are generated. This addresses problems some have encountered
when a software was waiting for sound interrupts to occur and it looked like Bernie went belly
up. The "mute" mode is quite a bit faster than mono playback.
 adaptive sound level smoothing
 automatic channel balancing
Fixed DTR setting not being properly dealt with in preferences sets
Fixed bug in window code that lead to close boxes having no effect
Fixed Easter Egg so you can turn it off
internal reorganizations. The usual code schmoozing, you know.
version 2.5.1: fixed bug where ProDOS 8 apps would not start when launched from IIgs Finder

What Was New In Version 2.0.2

Fix for shared volumes in ProDOS 8.

What Was New In Version 2.0.1

 SpeedNanny now works properly.
Marinetti now emulates properly (did use to freeze when hanging up)
Bernie now incorporates a fix for the "repeating keys" phenomena that Apple deliberately
chose not to take care of in MacOS
The modifier keys are discarded when Bernie is in the background
Interrupts are better dealt with when Bernie is grasping for CPU resources
(for example when opening menus, collapsing windows etc.)

What Was New In Version 2.0

Fixes in version 2.0 final:

Bernie froze when trying to switch to Power Mode with extended border active on a system with
monosync 14" monitor. Instead of going belly up, Bernie deactivates Extended Border.
help balloon for SpeedNanny was misleading
automatic disk initialization for 32Mb disk images failed. Instead of creating 32Mb, Bernie will
now allocate 31.5 Mb. The overflow the full 32Mb disk image caused will be fixed in the final
version 2.0.
baud rate was randomized with InkDirect upon choosing a parity.
dialog boxes for successful/unsuccessful registration are back
 window update flaw fixed
